WeConcile

Relationship Growth

UX Design     |     Product Design

My Role

As a UI/UX designer, I do user research and design work for this design sprint. It takes 1 month to complete.

With WeConcile, couples can grow together and build healthy, lasting relationships and be able to communicate better with each other. It is specifically designed for couples who want to connect more deeply, communicate more effectively, and improve their intimacy as a result. Spending a few minutes online with their partner can help them learn things about them, make them laugh together, and give them relationship tips from experts. With daily questions and quizzes, they can celebrate the moments that matter most, while checking in on the status of the relationship to help couples understand where they can improve.

Research

competitor analysis

Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that most of the features are already available in major competitors. My goal is to get some inspiration from Evergreen, Paired, and Relish by understanding how they work. In order to avoid couples from having to use multiple apps to accomplish the same task, it is essential to integrate all the important features into one app.  As a result, I discovered that some competitors have some features that are focused on hyper-customization for users based on an in-depth psychological assessment based on a wide range of factors. Weekly updates of progress are sent to users so they can keep track of how they are doing over time.

Synthesize

Persona

With the user's goals, frustrations, and basic information, I developed a persona. I used personas to understand the painpoints of users and develop a strategy purpose. As a result, I was able to come up with potential ideas based on users' needs.

Design

Sitemap

Following a brainstorming session in which various ideas were generated, the main contents of the application were decided. Creating a sitemap that outlines the guidance of the WeConcile tool is an important step in the process.

Wireframe

My goal while designing WeConcile was to see what users would experience and how they would interact with it in a low fidelity manner as I experienced it when I started designing it.  My sketches were going to be converted to a digital format in order to give a more accurate representation of how the final product will appear to users, while the wireframe was used to see how users will interact with the app when they use it.

Old Design VS New Design

In order to create a more user-friendly application, I redesigned WeConcile app after gathering client requests. I combined similar contents into one button on the navigation bar and decluttered unnecessary elements of the home page.  In accordance with the sitemap and persona that I created, I rearranged the layout of the screen and then added main features to the app.

High Fidelity Mockups

My process of creating a high fidelity mockup involved determining all details with regard to the user interface. In order to build high fidelity mockups, I consider brand platform in addition to brand style guide when making decisions about how to build these mockups. In this design, the design is based on font, icon, some styling, an image, and other elements that enhance its effectiveness, such as drop shadows, gradients, line widths, and other elements.

Wrap up

As I was developing the product, I used the design thinking process as well as the lean process to help me understand what it was that I was trying to achieve. By beginning with a user research study, I was able to gain insight into client requests. Achieving the business goal that clients want, I needed to understand their needs to come up with ideas and solutions for the problems they face.
